I’m Sharon Ashley—collision industry veteran, technology innovator, and passionate advocate for operational excellence. With over 40 years of hands-on experience, I’ve worked every angle of this business, from owner, estimator, and production management to building the software solutions transforming how shops operate today. As the founder and president of Micazen Consulting and Technologies Inc. (creators of BodyShop Connect), my mission is to help collision repair businesses not only keep pace with the digital age but truly thrive—through strategic technology leadership and AI-driven consulting that supports smarter decisions, stronger teams, and long-term, sustainable growth.
My path into collision repair wasn’t planned—it unfolded naturally, and I’m grateful it did. Although I had a strong technical background in computer programming and a solid understanding of business accounting, I was racing motorcycles and enjoying life. This allowed me to connect with people in dealerships and collision shops. Before the blink of an eye, I was working in a collision centre and loving it … the rest is history.
Over the past 40+ years, I’ve worked in numerous collision centres in every role—owner, estimator, production manager, technician, customer service, and operations. This hands-on experience gave me deep insight into what shop owners, managers, and technicians really need to succeed, whether running a single location or managing multi-shop operations.
We leverage our deep understanding of collision repair workflows and modern technology capabilities to guide your transformation journey. Our focus is on delivering practical, achievable change management strategies and implementation support that drive measurable improvements in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability—from digitizing paper-based processes to implementing advanced automation and preparing your organization for AI-powered operations.

Our focus is on delivering functional superiority and resilient, future-proof architectures that drive progress and redefine what’s possible, including specialized management systems, intuitive mobile applications, and powerful automation tools tailored to the unique workflow of collision repair.

Decades working in collision centres in every role

Computer programming applied to industry challenges

Pioneering customer communication and process transparency since the 1980s
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on clear organization and process. I learned early that efficient workflows, transparent communication, and attention to detail aren’t just nice-to-haves—they’re the foundation of a profitable, sustainable collision repair business.
After working hands-on in the industry for years, I wanted to combine my collision expertise with my IT background. That’s when I decided to create solutions that would truly serve the industry I love.
I represented other collision repair software systems for over a decade, training shops across Canada and the United States to become more process-driven and remove inefficiencies. I continued to see gaps—tools that didn’t quite fit how shops actually work, systems that created more complexity instead of solving problems.
That experience, combined with my years in collision centres, convinced me there was a better way. I knew exactly what shops needed because I’d lived it myself—on the shop floor, in the office, dealing with customers, insurance companies, and all the daily challenges of running a repair facility.
My mission has always been simple: help collision repair businesses operate better, faster, and more profitably by giving them the right tools and the right guidance. That’s what drives Micazen Consulting and Technologies.

After 40 years in this industry, I’ve learned what separates successful collision businesses from struggling ones. It comes down to three things: the right processes, the right tools, and the right support. That’s exactly what I deliver through Micazen Consulting and Technologies.

oking back on 40 years in collision repair, I’m grateful for every experience—from the early days working hands-on in shops, to consulting and training across North America to building the technology solutions that are helping transform the industry today.
“I’ve always felt that it’s important to treat every customer like family and take care of them as though we’re related. When I was in the shop, it meant ensuring the vehicle was repaired correctly and as quickly as possible and seeing them with a smile on their face when I handed them their keys back. On the software and consulting side of things, helping a collision centre improve their business, put more money on their bottom line, and get their time and freedom back—that’s very rewarding.
I love this industry and the people in it. I couldn’t leave it behind even when I had opportunities to do something completely different. The collision repair community is filled with hardworking professionals who care deeply about their craft and their customers.
What keeps me going is seeing shops transform—watching them eliminate frustrating inefficiencies, implement systems that actually work, and rediscover why they got into this business in the first place. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a shop owner get back in control of their business.
The collision repair industry is evolving faster than ever before. New technologies, changing customer expectations, more complex vehicles, and emerging opportunities with automation and AI are reshaping how successful shops operate.
I’m excited about the future and committed to continuing to help collision repair businesses navigate these changes. Whether through consulting guidance or software innovation, my mission remains the same: helping shops operate better, faster, and more profitably.
I’m not a generic business consultant who happens to work with body shops. I’ve lived in this industry for four decades. I’ve owned a shop, written estimates, managed production schedules, dealt with insurance adjusters, ordered parts, tracked technician productivity, and handled customer complaints. I’ve experienced firsthand the chaos of paper-based workflows and the transformation that happens when shops implement the right digital solutions.
When I recommend a process change or a technology investment, it’s based on what I know actually works in real collision repair environments—not theory from a textbook.
